INFRASTRUCTURE
Whistler Welding has been supporting provincial infrastructure upgrades for decades across a wide range of industries. Our facilities and team are well equipped to take on significant projects of this sort, including seismic upgrades, bridges, schools, hospitals, to name a few.
RECENT INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS
TSUNAMI EVACUATION TOWER
We are proud to have played a key role in the creation of Canada's first Tsunami Evacuation Tower at Daaxiigan Sk'adáa Née Secondary School in Masset, British Columbia, completed in 2022. This 10-meter steel structure was a significant milestone in safety infrastructure, providing vital protection for the community in the event of a tsunami.
UPPER LILLOOET HYDRO PROJECT
Whistler Welding contributed to the Upper Lillooet Hydro Project, which involved the design-build of two run-of-river, clean energy generating facilities: Upper Lillooet, featuring four Francis turbines, and Boulder Creek, featuring three Pelton turbines. The project was nationally recognized, receiving the Tunnelling Association of Canada's 2017 Innovation Project of the Year award.
Seismic upgrade at the Queen Mary school
This project preserved the historic 1914 red-brick heritage Queen Mary School building while adding a new wing and modern safety features. We provided structural steel to support this new wing of the school and ____.
